China Open Source Cloud League established in Shanghai


SHANGHAI, Aug 09, 2012 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Intel Asia-Pacific Research and Development Ltd (Intel AP R&D), Sina.com Technology (China) Co. (S INA.NASDAQ), China Standard Software Co., and Shanghai Jiao Tong Unive rsity signed an agreement here on Thursday for the establishment of th e China Open Source Cloud League (COSCL).



The COSCL aims to integrate China's OpenStack developers and the R&D resources to participate in the development of an OpenStac k community program and publicize the culture of open source cloud com puting, enhance Chinese developers and companies' contribution in glob al OpenStack communities, and jointly promote the development of open source software and cloud computing businesses.

With the burgeoning of cloud computing technology across the world, Chinese industries are showing increasing demand for develo ping and applying cloud computing technologies.


He Jingxiang, general-manager of Intel AP R&D, said COSCL would construct a high-efficiency cloud infrastructure platform with its partners and fully abide by the principle of open source to reward the international community with code. (Edited by Luo Jingjing, luojj @xinhua.org)
