MTN Satellite Communications Launches Broadcast Group

Aug 09, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- MTN Satellite Communications (MTN), a provider of communications, connectivity and content services to remote locations around the world, announced the formation of a new business unit that will offer customers the ability to transmit any type of broadcast content from about anywhere in the world.

According to a release, all the major U.S. networks have called on MTN at one time or another to have content sent back for their morning shows, nightly news, or live prime time events from some of the most remote and toughest terrains on the planet.

Most recently, June 10, MTN delivered the largest live broadcast to date from a moving vessel at sea when it provided a continuous uplink from Royal Caribbean International's Oasis of the Seas for real-time broadcast insertions of the ship's Hairspray production show to the 2012 Tony Awards televised on the CBS network. The broadcast took place from the ship in the open ocean between the islands of The Bahamas and Haiti and delivered the live video coverage back to CBS in the Beacon Theater in New York City, NY.
