General Dynamics Awarded National Institutes of Health Contract for IT Services(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 03 August 2012 Release date- 02082012 - FAIRFAX, Va. - General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a Chief Information Office - Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) contract by the National Institutes of Health's Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center. The 10-year multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a potential value of $20 billion to all awardees. CIO-SP3 is a government-wide acquisition contract that can be used by any federal civilian or Department of Defense agency to acquire information technology products, services and solutions. Under this contract, General Dynamics will deliver health and biomedical information technology services to help agencies meet scientific, health, administrative, operational and information management requirements. The contract also supports initiatives to integrate healthcare IT systems with broader IT architectures, enabling seamless operations across the enterprise-wide infrastructure. 'This versatile contract vehicle provides our health customers with a quick and efficient acquisition and provisioning option to help them meet their mission goals in the rapidly changing health, bio-medical and life science fields,' said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Health and Civilian Solutions division. The CIO-SP3 contract replaces the expired CIO-SP2, a contract General Dynamics has held for the past 10 years.
