To send faxes via this online fax service, the Company said that all users need to do is simply start the MaxEmail Fax iPhone app, take a picture of the document to be faxed using their iPhone camera, and instantly send the fax anywhere around the world. Jim Siwek, VP of Online Engineering for MaxEmail.com, said, "We are very excited to offer our customers the ability to send and receive faxes from their iPhones, anywhere they are. Using our MaxEmail Fax iPhone app, users can just snap a picture of a document and fax it with a few taps of the finger. No scanners, no fax machines and no phone lines needed. This new iPhone app truly makes mobile faxing a reality." Using the app in conjunction with MaxEmail.com's internet fax service, the Company noted, allows users to capture documents with their iPhone camera or select images from the Camera Roll, and "fax it" to any fax number worldwide. In addition, those with Google Docs, DropBox, WebDav, iDisk and other online file storage services can also access those services through the app and instantly send PDF files stored there via fax. MaxEmail said that the fax is sent simply by inputting the phone number of the recipient, adding the documents, and letting the software clean up the image before sending it off. Users will receive the email confirmation of their fax being sent via the MaxEmail.com network, or they will be informed of the fax's failure to send due to busy signals, no network coverage, etc. and the software will try up to five times to send the fax.
