COMAC & Safran Build Cable JV to Support C919SHANGHAI, Jun 27, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Information from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (COMAC) showed on June 27 its subsidiary Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (SAMC) and Labinal of Safran jointly invest and set up an aviation electrical cable manufacturing company in Shanghai. The new company will be responsible for all electrical cable systems on the C919. Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing and Labinal will hold respectively 51% and 49% equity of the joint venture. An insider in COMAC said the company launches detailed design of the C919 airliner and starts overall trial production in 2012, striving to make maiden flight in 2014 and get airworthiness certificate and deliver it to customers in 2016.
