Fifteenth Sequans-Powered 4G Device Launched by Global Mobile in Taiwan

4G chipmaker Sequans Communications (News - Alert) (NYSE:SQNS) announced that there are now 15 Sequans-powered mass-market 4G smartphones and tablets in use by consumers in four countries around the world. The latest is the HTC EVO Design, a 3G/4G smartphone, launched recently by Global Mobile, a leading WiMAX operator in Taiwan. The HTC EVO Design is now on sale and available in Taiwan through HTC stores as well as through Global Mobile.

According to Rosemary Ho, chairman of Global Mobile, the number of Global Mobile subscribers is expected to double by the end of the year due to the availability of the new HTC EVO Design.

Sequans-powered WiMAX smartphones and tablets are now available from seven operators around the world, including Global Mobile and Vee Time in Taiwan, KDDI (News - Alert) in Japan, Korea Telecom in Korea, and Sprint, Virgin Mobile, and Boost in the USA.

The HTC EVO Design features a 4-inch super LCD screen, capacitive touchscreen, 5MP camera, virtual QWERTY keyboard, and 2G/3G/WiMAX connectivity.
