VideoPropulsion Showcases New Mobile Video Hotspot Technology at HITEC

Baltimore, MD, Jun 26, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- VideoPropulsion(R) (OTC:VPTV) broadens the focus of the Company's industry leading FloodGate(R) family of HDTV head-ends for hotels on Booth #1708 at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC) here today. The Company is demonstrating its latest technological innovation with its peerless Mobile Video Hotspot (MVHS); designed to deliver linear digital television programming across a hotel property's wireless networks to most mobile and handheld devices, such as cell phones and tablets.

Utilizing all the familiar features and benefits of the FloodGate line of HDTV headend appliances, the Mobile Video Hotspot processes incoming streams from DISH Network(R), DirecTV(R), cable TV, ATSC off-air and other HD content sources, and transforms the content into formats suitable for playback on mobile devices. Content security is maintained through the use of industry standard encryption mechanisms. MVHS can be deployed as a standalone service or integrated into a new FloodGate FG-4000 series appliance.

The Mobile Video Hotspot is the perfect solution for delivering live streaming television channels to hotel lobbies, restaurants, bars, pools, sports bars, meeting rooms, and other venues, over a wireless Wi-Fi network infrastructure within a hospitality environment.

"FloodGate has given hospitality guests an incomparable choice of Free-to-Guest programming for 5 years", said Carl Pick, Chairman & CEO at VideoPropulsion. "Our Mobile Video HotSpot innovation now lets them take their viewing experience to other corners of the hotel. Sojourners sharing a room are not limited to a single program that can be watched on the television at any given time. Customers can go to the restaurant without missing a minute of a game or favorite show." Mobile Video Hotspot will be shown on the Guest-Tek (Booth #1406), and NX Systems (Booth #2428) HITEC booths, as well as the VideoPropulsion stand. Mobile Video Hotspot begins shipping later in 2012.
