Axeda Connexion 2012 Kicks Off


Jun 11, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Axeda said its Connexion 2012 kicked-off with a standing room only crowd for the conference opening keynotes.

According to a release, with presentations from AT&T, Salesforce.com, Yankee Group and Axeda, the morning agenda featured both visionary themes and real-world examples of the profound impact that machine-to-machine (M2M) technology is having on companies around the world, today.



Axeda CEO Jack Sweeney opened the conference by discussing how the convergence of cloud computing and connected products has paved the way for businesses to achieve new levels of innovation and competitive advantage. He was joined by Axeda's executive vice president of product strategy and marketing, Bill Zujewski and representatives from GE Gas Engines, Getinge, Hologic, and Isilon who shared how they are successfully integrating and utilizing M2M data across their respective organizations.

The company noted that Sweeney and Zujewski were followed by Yankee Group, Chairman Emeritus, Emily Nagle Green who previewed her upcoming book CHATTER: How the Explosion in Conversations with Things Will Define the 21st-Century Company and highlighted local companies, such as BigBelly Solar, that are transforming their industries through connectivity.


The second half of the morning featured Chris Hill, AT&T's vice president of advanced mobility solutions, who discussed the company's strategy to flexibly deliver integrated content, applications and services to any device, anywhere, anytime simplifying the M2M solution delivery process for customers. Charlie Isaacs, vice president of service cloud strategy, Salesforce.com rounded out the morning with an introduction to the Social Enterprise and its increasing connection to M2M technology.

"Our customers and partners have come out in force to make the whole conference a best-in-class experience for our attendees, and the result has been our very best agenda yet," said Zujewski. "The energy at today sessions was palpable. People are very excited about the opportunities that M2M can deliver." The Day 2 agenda will feature a "Rise of the Machines" keynote from Mike Wendell, vice president of industry business solutions, SAP. Axeda, Cisco, Telit, and Wipro will join SAP to discuss "Building the Next Generation of Connected Product Centric Business Models" in a keynote panel discussion moderated by Robin Duke Woolley, CEO of Beecham Research. Oracle will discuss how Java at the core of an embedded-to-enterprise M2M platform architecture enables scalable, leveraged development and data analysis.
