Cal Net Technology Group Enhances Its Education Vertical Program [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Cal Net Technology Group, an IT consulting and computer services company serving Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties, announced the development and success of its Education vertical.

According to a release, the program has quickly gained momentum with two additional, successful local school initiatives lead by Cal Net's new Business Development Executive, Dan Feist.

Feist comes to Cal Net with over 15 years of successful sales experience offering IT solutions for the Southern California Education vertical. He brings his past experience with companies such as K12, Inc., a leader in online learning solutions for grades K through 12, Rosetta Stone, TYCO/ADT Security Services and Gateway/ MPC Corp. both consulting the education arena.

"Dan brings a brand new, long sought after strength to Cal Net, which is exciting because the Education vertical is very important to us and now we have a valuable asset to take the reigns and build the program," remarked Zack Schuler, Founder and CEO of Cal Net Technology Group.

Cal Net noted that since the program launched, it has assisted Los Encinos with obtaining California Technology Fund approval and funding so that they can cut their costs of broadband by 50 percent. This helped the school get a much larger amount of broadband to support the student's growing iPad and hosted services needs.

The second school initiative, allowed Cal Net to earn its first E- Rate contract to provide technical support funded by E-Rate for New Academy Canoga Park's networking products including Switches, Wireless, and Exchange Email. This contract helps in reducing the monthly IT support costs that K-12 schools incur for managing common network products.

"We are experiencing a fundamental change with technology to support education and are excited Dan will spearhead our goal to improve IT and drive collaboration among the most innovative K-12 schools in Southern California," said Gavin Zimmer, Business Development Manager of Cal Net Technology Group.
