University of Tokyo's ITC selects NEC's Educational Campuswide Computing SystemMay 28, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- The Information Technology Center, or ITC, of the University of Tokyo and NEC Corporation have announced that the ITC began operating its Educational Campuswide Computing System, or ECCS2012, in March 2012. NEC manages the integration and operational support of this system. The ITC's ECCS2012 consists of networks and computers, including servers and terminals that are used for education and academic research by the students and teaching staff of the University of Tokyo. Terminals are located in libraries and classrooms throughout the Hongo, Komaba and Kashiwa Campuses. Key features of the ECCS2012 are as follows: Integrated authentication for approximately 40,000 users, establishment of an environment prepared for disasters with high-speed data replication, improved printing convenience including net print services, more than 1,300 iMac terminals and establishment of an environment for remote connections from off campus.
