TDS Telecommunications - Seven Wisconsin high school seniors receive scholarships


(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 25 May 2012 Release date- 24052012 - Seven Wisconsin High School seniors received Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF) scholarships this month.

Each year, local telephone companies - including TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS) - participate in the WSTF scholarship program. The local telecoms team up with high schools in their serving areas to offer the scholarships. Applications are reviewed by WSTF volunteers who select the finalists based on grades, academic achievements, and extra-curricular activities.

This year, seven students in areas TDS serves received WSTF scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500. The recipients include: Jennifer M. Baker, Greenwood High Jenna L. Romich, New Glarus High Sarah C. Heinemann, Waunakee High Justin R. Hore, Lancaster High Miranda R. Richard, Cuba City High Kristi R. Bartels, Potosi High Kate E. Griswold, Middleton High Since 1966, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million in scholarships to 972 students. The Foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association, a trade organization representing 65 telephone companies and cooperatives in Wisconsin.
