EdgeWave unveils new iPrism Social Media Security service

May 25, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- EdgeWave Inc., a provider of Secure Content Management, or SCM, solutions, has introduced iPrism Social Media Security, a new service that transcends traditional web filtering by monitoring and controlling user interactions with social media applications.

iPrism Social Media Security enable access to social media sites, while providing enforcement of acceptable use policies. iPrism Social Media Security protects enterprises and educational institutions from loss of proprietary, confidential and sensitive data, and gives them control over inappropriate content postings, while helping to prevent cyber bullying, the company said.

"With social media becoming the largest, fastest growing segment of Web traffic and an integral part of personal and business relationships, organizations can no longer adopt an all-or-nothing approach for enforcing Internet use policies," said Steve Kelley, SVP of corporate development and product strategy at EdgeWave.

"iPrism Social Media Security is seamlessly integrated into the fabric of social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter to provide organizations with much needed visibility, control and protection against potential threats and liabilities associated with the social Web." iPrism Social Media Security provides administrators with unequalled functionality for managing social media applications. Policy management interface enables easy-to-configure acceptable use policies for social media applications, integrated, customizable reporting for visibility and regulatory compliance of social media activity, and application-level content blocking and warning messages that provide an integrated user experience with applications such as Facebook and Twitter, the company added.
