Fortinet Products Receive Network Products Guide Awards

May 25, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Fortinet announced that the company's FortiGate-5140B and FortiGate-1000C won "Best Firewall" and "Integrated Security" respectively at Network Products Guide's 7th Annual 2012 Hot Companies and Best Products Awards.

According to a release, these industry and peer recognitions are information technology awards, which honor achievements in every facet of the IT industry. The announcement was made at an exclusive awards gala held at Las Vegas' Luxor hotel on Tuesday, May 8, in tandem with the Interop tradeshow.

"We are honored to have our FortiGate-5140B and FortiGate-1000C recognized by Network Products Guide judges in the categories of firewall and integrated security," said Patrick Bedwell, VP of product marketing for Fortinet. "The technology behind these two products offers enterprises, telcos and managed security service providers unmatched performance and broad network protection that is stable, reliable and easy to manage." The Company reported that the Native 10-GbE support and a AdvancedTCA (ATCA)-compliant architecture enable the FortiGate-5140B to protect today's dynamic, cloud-based, multi-tenant security-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service environments. The FortiGate-5140B supports up to fourteen blades, allowing customers to customize and scale their security solution for their unique environments. The security blades also integrate with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer systems to provide centralized command with rich analytics and reporting to help security managers stay fully current with evolving security needs.

The FortiGate-1000C integrates essential security and networking functions into a single device to help mid-enterprise networks and branch offices of large enterprises identify and thwart the targeted attacks they face.

Fortinet is a worldwide provider of network security appliances and is focused in unified threat management (UTM).
