BRIEF: Police looking for man who attempted to rob Bedford County Taco Bell [with surveillance video]May 24, 2012 (The Roanoke Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Courtesy Bedford County Sheriff's Office A man who was wearing a black T-shirt over his face and holding a gun demanded money at the Forest Taco Bell, Bedford County Sheriff's Maj. Ricky Gardner said in a news release. A gun-wielding man crawled through a Bedford County Taco Bell drive-through window and demanded cash Wednesday night, officials said, but his attempted thievery was ultimately unsuccessful. An employee of the Taco Bell in the 14000 block of Forest Road in Forest called 911 just after 11 p.m. to report the attempted robbery, Bedford County Sheriff's Maj. Ricky Gardner said in a news release. The man wore a torn black T-shirt over his face and brandished a gun while demanding money, Gardner said. When an employee told him the money had already been secured for the night, the suspect ran from the restaurant toward Elkton Farm Road, Gardner said. Security camera footage shows the suspect wearing brown gloves, black sweat pants, a black sweatshirt, black and silver tennis shoes, a dark colored hat and blue sunglasses, Gardner said. Anyone with information about the crime can call Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at 888-798-5900.
