Cisco Systems Sets up Beijing R & D CenterBEIJING, May 24, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Cisco Systems, Inc. announced on May 23 that its China R & D center branch was formally established in Beijing. Cisco said this Beijing R & D center would be dedicated to research and development of innovation technologies in fields such as video. In addition, the new center will enhance joint R & D with universities in order to further drive progress of next generation broadcasting network (NGB). According to Cisco, the China R & D center is the company's third largest R & D center in the world, only next to its headquarters in the U.S. and India R & D. China R & D center now has almost 3,000 employees, more than 10% of Cisco's employees around the world. This new Beijing R & D center has nearly 100 employees so far, and some of them come from BNI Video, a company bought by Cisco earlier.
