IEEE Computer society unveils free digital library mobile app

May 23, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Computing membership organisation, the IEEE Computer Society, announced on Wednesday that it is offering a free digital library mobile application for the iPad, which provides subscribers with access to the Computer Society Digital Library (CSDL) .

The IEEE Computer Society said its digital library provides online access to over 425,000 articles from 27 peer-reviewed magazines and journals, as well as more than 4,100 conference publications that include up to date information on subjects such as cloud computing, security and privacy, data mining and augmented reality.

According to the organisation, its new app includes a My Bookmark feature that allows iPad users to save links to articles of specific interest, while the My Library feature stores articles for future use and reading. A Share feature also enables users to alert colleagues to must-read articles by posting links to them on Facebook.

IEEE Computer Society members and institutions can subscribe to the CSDL for one low rate, while institutions can purchase individual documents at the nonmember rate of USD19 and may qualify for a free trial. The application is available for download at the iTunes App Store at "IEEE Computer Society" in the Education category.
