Fonality selects Sonus Networks to enhance cloud-hosted VoIP and UC servicesMay 21, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Sonus Networks, Inc., a provider of SIP communications, has announced that Fonality has selected Sonus to enhance the performance, reliability and capability of its cloud-hosted VoIP and unified communications, or UC, network services. The solution features Sonus SBC 5200 session border controllers (SBC) and will enhance Fonality's current Cloud-hosted network by simplifying it through SIP trunk consolidation while also reducing their operating costs. The new capabilities are expected to further harden the security of Fonality's network and enable the firm to accommodate new user growth for those demanding SIP-based UC and contact center application features. Fonality will also deploy Sonus NetScore, a network performance analyzer that enables service providers and enterprises to increase operational efficiencies and maximize return on investment. Sonus was selected by Fonality based on the ability to provide a highly scalable, reliable SBC platform which leverages the benefits of SIP to reduce costs and add capabilities. "Investing in our network and the advanced communications services we provide is fundamental to the commitment we make to small and mid-size businesses each day," said David Scult, CEO at Fonality. "In a competitive review process we examined the Sonus SBC 5200 solution thoroughly and we chose it because we wanted to be certain that our network had the ability to scale and grow effectively." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
