Local muscian breaks Top 100ELIZABETHTOWN, May 17, 2012 (Bladen Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Bladen County rapper is enjoying a turn on the Billboard Digital Radio Tracker Top 100 list. Nigel Adams, known as "Da Drifter" has seen his song, Party Dream reach as high as no. 69 on the list. "It felt pretty good," said Adams of the song's rise up the charts. "I wish I had some time to enjoy it. I was out working when it (the song) climbed into the Top 100." Adams said his music is getting airplay on digital radio stations in such markets as Hartford, Conn.; Atlanta, Ga.; Greensboro and even in Europe. The video for Party Dream has also gotten some air time according to a music video airplay report. Video Diversity, a show airing on cable TV each Wednesday at 10 p.m. showed Drifter Party Dream by Paper City Records, as no. 3 on the play list for Feb. 23. Adams' music is in good company on the chart with such well known artists as Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, and Flo Rida. Adams, who owns and operates Paper City Records, said he is excited at the exposure for his music and he is busy scouting out locations to make another video. "Bring You Down is the next single coming out," said Adams. He added he will probably use the same production team for this video as he did for Party Dream. He is also busy continuing to campaign and promote the song Party Dream. Adams said he has been approached by the California Music Network, which is similar to the BET network, about airing Party Dream. "They control most of the West Coast (in airing music videos)," said Adams. In many of the locales, the video has been airing during prime time and the song is being added to a lot of radio station play lists, said Adams. "We're getting a lot of spins," said Adams.
