Azuki Systems Partners with D-Link to Bring Over-the-Top Content to Multi-Screens

ACTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

Azuki Systems, the leader in the delivery of video to any screen over any network, today announced a joint go-to-market and technology partnership with D-Link, the global leader in the connectivity for small, medium and large enterprise business networking.

The new partnership allows TV cable operators to offer customers affordable access to over-the-top content in their living rooms via multi-screens and home TV sets. D-Link's (News - Alert) companion set-top-box (STB) embedded with the Azuki Media Client helps TV cable operators to capitalize and monetize multi-screen TV Everywhere opportunities at home, faster, better and much less expensively than traditional infrastructure solutions.

About the partnership

John Clancy, President and CEO of Azuki Systems (News - Alert) noted, "This exciting go to market and technology partnership comes at a time when TV cable operators are faced with increased competition, demand for multi-screens and the prospect of a long and expensive journey to upgrade their systems to support TV Everywhere and IP content." Clancy continued, "We're pleased to partner with D-Link to help TV cable operators capitalize on the multi-screen market at home, and more quickly deploy advanced services." D-Link will integrate with Azuki's intelligent delivery client technology, the Azuki Media Client, and distribute the Azuki Media Platform™ to system integrators and TV cable operators in Taiwan, Japan and China.

"Now, TV cable operators don't have to rely on expensive infrastructure upgrades to become a powerful player in the multi-screen TV Everywhere market," said Eugene Yen, Vice President of D-Link. "D-Link's companion set-top-box was built to work with today's STB infrastructure, and combined with Azuki's proven technology, it allows TV cable operators to stream IP content directly to first-screens and multi-devices at home, in a cost-effective manner, and with a great user-experience." Azuki will integrate with D-Link's companion set-top-box (STB) family of products to help TV cable operators to extend TV Everywhere offerings to any screen.

Benefits of the Azuki and D-Link partnership for cable operators and their customers:

  • TV cable operators can expand to multi-screen TV Everywhere market at Internet speed to keep up with competitive offerings, without impacting existing video delivery services.
  • TV cable operators can bring IP-based OTT content to the living room, without the need to undergo expensive and time consuming last-mile, head-end and STB infrastructure upgrades.
  • TV cable operators can have a brand-able OTT companion STB embedded with Azuki's powerful technology, such as studio-approved Digital Rights Management (DRM), real-time analytics and monetization schemes, including mid-roll ad insertion.
  • Unlike other companion STBs that introduce competitive video services into the customer's home, D-Link's DSM (News - Alert) series OTT box embedded with Azuki's technology provides TV cable operators with a cost effective way to quickly augment their video delivery business, by allowing traditional home TV to have direct access to IP video without changes to QAM and STB infrastructure.

Both Azuki Systems and D-Link will be presenting at the upcoming The Cable Show in Boston, Mass., from May 21 to 23. To learn more about this partnership or the companies' services, visit Azuki and D-Link at show booths 1470 and 2151, respectively.
