SeaPass Introduces New Mobile Capability for Its Award Winning Insurance Portal 3.0

ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

From the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum, SeaPass Solutions, Inc. (insuranceportal.seapass.com), a leading independent provider of web-based insurance distribution solutions to the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry, today announced a new mobile capability for its Insurance Portal 3.0 for personal and commercial lines. Available for immediate delivery, the new SeaPass mobile offering enables, agents and consumers to easily connect, communicate, and manage their business with carriers using the Mobile Web.

The SeaPass Insurance Portal 3.0 mobile capability offers a comprehensive industry first by combining SeaPass' proven solutions for carrier automation and agency quoting into an iPhone (News - Alert) and Android application that supports both personal lines and commercial lines with fully automated admitted and excess and surplus (E&S) lines access for agents and consumers. In addition, a carrier's internal underwriters and agents are able to utilize Insurance Portal 3.0 functionality via tablets such as iPad or Android (News - Alert) to support emerging Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives in a safe and secure environment.

The offering for the iPad, iPhone, and Android includes functionality for sales and service targeting both consumers and agents. Now, as a fully functioning part of the SeaPass Insurance Portal 3.0, carriers are able to quickly and easily launch both mobile web sites and mobile applications for Android and iPhone marketplaces.

The wide range of capabilities for insurance agents and consumers includes: getting real-time quotes, filing a FNOL (First Notice of Loss) for claims, submitting inquiries such as billing, obtaining proof of insurance, managing policies, accident histories -- and even assistance with finding an agent, repair shop, or service, and more. Carriers' sales and service functions for agents include obtaining commercial and personal lines quotes and policy inquiries.

The SeaPass Insurance Portal 3.0 is already in production with wholesalers, such as Crump, and multiple commercial and personal lines carriers such as CNA, plus a host of others. In addition, SeaPass is working in close collaboration with Willis Commercial Network (WCN), via its SeaPass based Insurance Noodle platform, to introduce the new mobile capability to its member agents in the coming months. WCN will be SeaPass' first client for the robust mobile capability, which follows the launch of its integrated online quoting platform, last year. The addition of the mobile capability is the next step in the growth and dvelopment of the Insurance Noodle platform.

Ralph Blust, Executive Vice President for Willis Commercial Network stated, "Through collaboration with SeaPass last year, we first introduced what I believe to be the only single entry, multi-carrier quoting platform in the industry that bridges the admitted and non-admitted marketplaces. Through this latest collaboration, we are delivering another first with a mobile capability that will now allow the quoting of a commercial policy from multiple carriers whenever and wherever an agent is within wireless range. The ability to get a commercial lines quote at any time and from anywhere, literally in the palm of your hand, is very exciting and a great benefit to our carriers, our clients and their insureds."

The SeaPass Insurance Portal 3.0 mobile capability provides an infrastructure that will:

  • enable carriers, consumers, appointed agents, and/or customer service representatives and underwriters to connect, communicate, and manage the business from a mobile device;
  • allow agents submit applications and receive quotes online for admitted and non-admitted carriers utilizing internal rating systems or direct from carriers, and returning single carrier or multi-carrier quotes in real time;
  • support underwriter collaboration for referrals, and provide full integration with the wholesaler or MGA's internal management systems;
  • support consumers in an industry leading self-service model from their mobile device

The new SeaPass Insurance Portal 3.0 mobile capability helps with industry drivers that are common with mobile applications and consumers. SeaPass suggests that by capturing underserved demand, implementing quickly with minimal risk, and automating the collaboration stream, companies will be able to directly address the agent, the consumer, and their internal groups with a mobile offering that is immediately available as a part of Insurance Portal 3.0 in a way heretofore not possible. With SeaPass Insurance Portal 3.0 mobile capability an unprecedented level of marketplace access will provide agents with fully automated, online access to the widest selection of commercial lines products -- from admitted to E&S, and from standard to specialty programs and to both standard and non-standard personal lines products. The combined client base thus far represents in excess of 13,000 agencies and thousands of consumers.

Commenting on the new offering, Tim Attia, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, SeaPass, said, "We are excited to offer Carriers and Wholesalers, really any part of the P&C Insurance Market value chain a fast, efficient, low risk set of mobile applications to provide their businesses an automated way to access markets from a mobile device, while also making it easy for their agents and customers. The very fast mobile response time and higher level of customer service for prospects and clients will result in more referrals, translating to more premium revenue."

Attia continued, "SeaPass has been successfully automating the insurance industry for 12 years. With our latest mobile offering for Insurance Portal 3.0, we are able to take automation another step forward for consumers and agents by bringing together the various industry constituents required to offer an automated way to provide the ultimate in sales and service from a mobile device. We know, from a leading industry study, that fully 77% of all Insurance company websites are not optimized for mobile. We are looking to change that."
