Novatel Wireless announces new telemetry solutions

May 15, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Novatel Wireless Inc, a provider of wireless networking solutions, has announced new telemetry solutions for remote asset, monitoring and control aimed at industrial automation, vending machines, oil and gas pipelines and energy and smart grid applications.

The new Novatel Wireless SA-G+ device support CDMA2000 1X in a compact, economical IP-based platform. The SA-G+ is part of the Enfora SA portfolio and provides simple, yet powerful, plug-and-play wireless telemetry devices targeted at a host of vertical applications where critical and timely data and information are needed. With support for CDMA2000 1X or GSM/GPRS connectivity for global deployments, the SA-G+ has been designed to enhance your visibility into remotely-located fixed assets, the company said.

"Companies with fixed assets of various types can benefit greatly from this fully-programmable platform," says Rob Hadley, CMO of Novatel Wireless. "The units are designed to be easily deployed and provisioned, supplying critical information from industrial automation applications where companies require connectivity to serially-connected and sensor-generated data. We're very excited to be extending this proven platform to support CDMA2000 1X carriers' network." All SA-G+ devices can be coupled with Novatel Wireless's N4A Communications and Management Software (CMS) platform and be provisioned, monitored, managed and reconfigured remotely from almost anywhere in the world. By combining the N4A CMS platform with the intelligence of the SA-G+ devices, customers will gain a solution that offers ease-of-deployment, superior, reliable performance in a small and flexible package, the company added.
