North Atlantic Industries Delivers 3U cPCI QorIQ P2041 SBC Solution [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) North Atlantic Industries (NAI) announced the availability of a 3U cPCI COTS Single Board Computer (SBC) solution with dual high speed/performance function module slots for configurable multi- function I/O interface expansion.

According to a release, powered by Freescale's 1.2 GHz QorIQ P2041 Power Architecture processor, the 75SBC4 offers an extremely low power, cost-conscious processing and I/O solution ideally suited for sensor and communication data acquisition, distribution, processing and management for a range of land, sea and air military platforms.

Two I/O function slots enable integrators to mix-and-match a variety of I/O, communications functions and/or SATA II NAND Flash memory. The 75SBC4 configured with two functions enables systems integrators to confidently manage, monitor and process a host of sensor interfacing requirements with NAI's flexible, fully programmable I/O modules. This configurable, COTS design offers a broad assortment of signal interfaces including Digital I/O (Discrete, Differential, TTL/CMOS); Analog I/O (A/D, D/A, RTD, Strain Gage); Motion Control and Sensor Interfaces (Synchro/ Resolver/LVDT/ RVDT Measurement and Simulation, Encoder/Counter) and Communications Interfaces (Serial RS-232/422/423/485, CANBus, MIL- STD-1553 and ARINC 429/575).


As described by the company, the 75SBC4 supports: -Up to 4GB DDR3 SDRAM -Up to 256 MB user flash -1 x RS232, 1 x USB, 1 x I2C & 2 x Gig-E -Wind River Linux (4.3) and VxWorks (6.x) BSP -All I/O data available on Ethernet and/or cPCI -Two function slots -NAI full complement of I/O and communications -SATA interface for up to 256GB Flash SSD "We offer customers more than just an SBC with a minimal selection of PMC functionality," said Lino Massafra, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "With added capability that supports a full range of field-proven I/O, communications and memory interface options all on one board, our customers reduce SWaP and overall system costs. Modular mix-and-match I/O and memory with a powerful QorIQ P2041 Quad-Core SBC provides an unprecedented single slot processing and I/O solution. " Typical applications include high-performance, low-power, space constrained systems requiring available COTS I/O, communications and memory configurations without the need for custom circuit card assemblies.
