CTL Introduces 2go® Studybook L7 Ruggedized Tablet

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Portland, OR (PRWEB) April 23, 2012 Portland, Oregon’s CTL™, today introduced the 2go® studybook L7 Tablet, a 7” ruggedized tablet that’s part of the Intel Learning Series.

The first 7 ruggedized tablet on the market, the 2go® studybook L7, is purpose-built for education, has a 7” 1024x600 capacitive touch screen and approximately 6 hours of battery life. Equipped with an Intel® Atom™ z650 processor and available with either Microsoft Windows 7 or an Android operating system, the 2go® Studybook L7 Tablet is a fully functional tablet with a ruggedized chassis. The 2go® studybook L7 will be available in configurations starting at under $300.

Erik Stromquist, CTL’s COO, said “CTL launched our first tablet in 2008 long before tablets were the must have device. We know tablets and we are very excited to be introducing the first ruggedized 7” tablet on the market. Customers have many choices in the tablet space. The 2go® studybook L7 Tablet fills an important space as a purpose built device for education, mobile workforce and vertical markets.” Designed to withstand a drop from desk height and to be water resistant, the 2go® studybook L7 tablet is designed for a variety of harsh real-world environments. With a USB port, a microSD card slot, audio out, and options such as 3G, mini-HDMI and Bluetooth, the 2go® studybook L7 Tablet is an ultra-portable, ultra affordable tablet that is perfect for students, mobile workers and people on the go. For education customers, the 2go studybook L7 comes with educational software pre-installed, including classroom management, LabCam applications that support scientific inquiry, and an optimized e-reader. Additionally the L7 is fully manageable with the Teacher PC spec (a reference design and software stack for machines that teachers can use to develop content and administer the devices). There's also collaboration software providing a student-friendly interface so that both teachers and students can collaborate within the classroom electronically.

“We are excited to see CTL bring the studybook L7 to market” said Wayne Grant, Director of Research and Planning at Intel corp. “With studybook, students have a new, exciting and fun way to engage in interactive and collaborative learning.” CTL also expects the 2go® studybook L7 to be popular in a variety of markets beyond education and will offer without the education specific software. Markets such as inspection, field sales and service, military, aviation and law enforcement will value the ruggedness and features of the 2go® studybook L7 tablet.
