United States : VERIZON WIRELESS expands 4G LTE NETWORK to 27 NEW CITIES [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Faster 4G LTE network will be expanded to 27 new cities by Verizon Wireless. This will bring a total to 230 metro areas nationwide.

LTE service was 1st offered by Verizon in the U.S and it has a big lead over AT&T.

20 LTE-capable smartphones, tablets and modems, which also includes the new Lucid smartphone by LG and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is offered by Verizon.

5-12Mbps for downloads and 2-5Mbps for uploads is the speed offered by Verizon on its LTE network.



Verizon is also planning to expand its LTE coverage within 44 existing markets.

LTE service will be offered to about 400 cities, reaching more than 260 million people by the end of 2012, added the company.
