BRIEF: Electronic recycling event to be held Saturday in Belleville


Apr 19, 2012 (Belleville News-Democrat - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- St. Clair Associated Vocational Enterprises (SAVE) Electronic Recycling Center will participate in a statewide effort to collect 1 million pounds of electronics between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at SAVE North, 620 N. Illinois St., Belleville.



The free event is one day before Earth Day.

St. Clair County and surrounding residents are encouraged to bring their outdated computers, TVs, printers, game systems, monitors, cell phones, telephones, fax machines, DVD/DVR/VCR players, audio equipment, cameras/camcorders, scanners and peripherals (keyboards, mice, wire, etc,) and other electronic items to SAVE.


SAVE offers vocational development, developmental training, JOBtrack and residential services to adults with developmental disabilities. SAVE provides employment, residential services, and life skills training to more than 200 people from St. Clair and adjacent counties. The Electronic Recycling Center, which opened in December 2010, employs several men and women with disabilities.
