AltiGen's Microsoft Lync Enabled Voice Mobility Solution Certified Under Aruba Networks' Technology Partner Program
SAN JOSE, CA, Apr 11, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
AltiGen Communications, Inc. (OTCQX: ATGN) (PINKSHEETS: ATGN), a
leading provider of Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) solutions,
announced that its MaxMobile for Lync and iFusion SmartStations have
been certified interoperable with Aruba Networks' Wi-Fi
infrastructure. The ArubaEdge Technology Partner Program, under which
AltiGen was certified, is the backbone of Aruba's partner ecosystem
and focuses on ensuring the reliable operation of multi-vendor
mobility solutions. The program includes top-tier suppliers that
share a forward-looking vision of secure mobility, a commitment to
customer service, and a focus on device interoperability.
Aruba's innovative fingerprinting technology identifies Microsoft
Lync unified communications data, voice, and video streams as they
flow over Wi-Fi. The network is designed to automatically and
dynamically configure to deliver quality of service -- on an
application-by-application, device-by-device basis -- as needed to
ensure highly reliable delivery of those streams. Capitalizing on the
benefits of Lync over Wi-Fi requires an ecosystem of hardware and
application solutions.
MaxMobile is an enterprise voice mobility solution for Microsoft Lync
that features a native client for popular smartphone devices such as
Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad), Google Android, RIM BlackBerry, and Windows
Phone 7.
The iFusion SmartStation is a multi-function desktop docking station
that pairs the Apple iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and 4S, and features an
ergonomic handset and business-grade speakerphone. It also integrates
seamlessly with voice-enabled applications such as Apple Siri, Apple
FaceTime, Skype, AltiGen's MaxMobile for Lync, Cisco Mobile, and
Avaya one-X Mobile.
"Microsoft Lync is transforming the economics of unified
communications, and partners like AltiGen help us extend those
savings to desktop telephony,"said Michael Tennefoss, Aruba Networks'
Head of Strategic Partnerships. "Replacing wired VoIP phones with
smartphones running on Aruba's Wi-Fi networks and equipped with
AltiGen's MaxMobile for Lync and iFusion SmartStations can yield huge
monetary and carbon footprint savings."
"The performance of MaxMobile for Lync is dependent on the quality
and capabilities of the Wi-Fi infrastructure over which it operates,"
said Niel Levonius, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy, AltiGen.
"Aruba's industry-leading, application-aware Wi-Fi solutions make it
possible for us to deliver high-quality Microsoft Lync services to
smartphone devices."
