YOKOHAMA - Nissan Motor Co. said it will start manufacturing a new hatchback at its Sunderland plant in Britain from 2014 by investing 127 million pounds (16.35 billion yen), creating additional jobs at the factory and component suppliers.
---------- Kyocera to build mega solar power plant in Kagoshima
OSAKA - Kyocera Corp. said it is considering building a 70,000-kilowatt solar power plant in Kagoshima from July, which would be the second-largest mega solar facility in Japan after a 200,000-kw plant planned by Softbank Corp. in Tomakomai, Hokkaido.

TOKYO - The number of cellphones shipped in Japan rose for the third straight month in February, surging 20.2 percent from a year earlier to 2,365,000 units, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association said.
