UXP Systems' MINT Platform to Support Columbus Communications' Multiscreen Home Phone Service

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) April 06, 2012 UXP Systems, a leading provider of multiscreen enablement software for cable and telecom operators (http://www.uxpsystems.com), announced today that it has successfully implemented its Multiscreen Interaction (MINT) Platform in support of the upcoming launch of a “Home-Phone-To-Go” service for Columbus Communications’ cable system in Trinidad, regarded to be the first multiscreen service of its kind launched in the industry. Columbus’s retail asset in Trinidad, Flow, is the leading communications provider in the country with a customer base of over 200,000 households offering video, internet and voice services.

Using the MINT Platform, Columbus is able to seamlessly unify various existing phone systems to deliver calling, voicemail, address book and calling history across tablets, smartphones and personal computers. The implementation was completed as planned in January 2012 and has since been in market trial with customers of Columbus’ retail operator, Flow Trinidad.

“We’re excited by the opportunity to capitalize on the power of this platform, quickly delivering our innovative services to new devices,” said Rhea Yaw Ching, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Columbus Communications. “Thus far, our market trial has progressed extremely well as we ready for this market launch, an industry-first.” “People are now talking about voice-apps as the missed trend in the tablet and smartphone space in 2011,” said Gemini Waghmare, CEO of UXP Systems. “We view the multiscreen extension of voice and messaging as having the same importance as video and an even greater opportunity to unify those services via the UXP Systems platform. The Flow deployment will be the first of several such deployments we expect to see in 2012.” The Flow multiscreen service is slated for full market launch in May 2012, and will feature multiscreen calling, messaging and cable TV listings. A forthcoming release will also include live television.

The UXP Systems Multiscreen Interaction Platform is the cable/telecom industry's first field-proven enterprise platform for enabling the rapid and seamless launch of multiple operator services in one enterprise framework. It provides the necessary utilities and out-of-the box service models for enabling a wide array of video, voice, messaging and next-generation services on any screen, in a unified and integrated manner. The MINT platform enables operators to offer ‘one app to rule them all' for tablets and smartphones and smart televisions, across platforms, drastically cutting time to market, cost and ongoing maintenance.

Benefits of the MINT platform include:    •      Cross platform, documented utilities to support multiscreen apps and portals across tablet, smartphone, set-top-box and PC    •     Integration framework to support operator network and IT systems    •     Pre-developed multiscreen service models and workflows for operator and 3rd party services    •     Out-of-the-box, user-experience and business processes for multiscreen services    •     Rich, pre-built templates for multiscreen user registration, maintenance and administration The MINT platform also supports out-of-the-box templates for the rapid launch of voice, messaging, and video.
