NCPDP Announces Webinar on Workers' Compensation Pharmacy Processing


SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Apr 04, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), a not-for-profit pharmacy standards development organization, announced today registration is open for its Workers' Compensation Pharmacy Processing Webinar, which will take place Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. The webinar is intended for employers, state agencies, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and others with a role or interest in understanding workers' compensation pharmacy processing.



In the 60-minute webinar, NCPDP WG16 Property & Casualty/Workers Compensation Co-chairs, Jim Andrews, R.Ph., Senior VP, Pharmacy Services, Cypress Care, Inc., and Kevin Tribout, Executive Director, Government Affairs, PMSI, Inc., will provide an overview of workers' compensation including who administers coverage and who pays for its services. The presenters will describe how eligibility is established, uncover the most common pharmacy fill challenges, and explore critical topics such as ePrescribing, billing, subrogation and PBM licensure, accreditation and reporting. Attendees will also gain insight into the importance of state agencies embracing the standards developed by NCPDP.

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians who register and attend the webinar may earn 1.0 hours of Continuing Education (CE) Credits from the ACPE. CE Credit is being provided by AmerisourceBergen.
