Cognosante Names Eileen Cassidy Rivera, Vice President of Marketing and Communications
MCLEAN, VA, Mar 29, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Cognosante, a leading provider of IT services to healthcare
organizations, named Eileen Cassidy Rivera its Vice President of
Marketing and Communications. Rivera will report to Michele Kang, CEO
of Cognosante, and lead the company's marketing, communications and
branding programs.
Rivera comes to Cognosante with significant experience in business,
technology and government. From 2005-2011, she was Vice President of
Communications and Investor Relations at Vangent, a General Dynamics
company, where she led the company's external and internal
communications and investor relations programs. When the company was
sold by Pearson plc to Veritas Capital in 2007, Rivera played an
integral role to create Vangent's name and led its branding and
communications strategies. During Rivera's tenure, Vangent earned
numerous industry rankings and awards, culminating with being named
Government Contractor of the Year in 2011. Before joining Vangent,
Rivera was Director of Public Relations at EDS Federal, which is now
HP Enterprise Services.
Prior to her tenure in the government services industry, Rivera
served in the Clinton Administration where she held senior roles at
the Commerce Department, Small Business Administration and the Peace
Corps. At Hill & Knowlton, she managed a diverse portfolio of
international and corporate clients.

Rivera earned a master's in business administration and a bachelor of
arts, both from the American University. She studied at the Kennedy
School of Government and Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. She
has lectured on corporate communications and ethics at Georgetown
University's School of Continuing Studies.
Rivera was named a finalist for Corporate PR Executive of the Year by
PR News in 2010. She is a guest columnist with Washington Technology
and regularly writes about emerging trends in branding, marketing,
corporate social responsibility and diversity.
