for VoIP and High Speed Internet Deployment
Italian operator expands bandwidth and availability of advanced applications
with reliable solution from Zhone
Oakland, CA - March 15, 2012 - Zhone Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZHNE), a global
leader in FTTx network access solutions, today announced a new multiple access
line concentrator deployment with Convergenze S.p.A., the leading regional
operator in southern Italy. Convergenze is offering affordable and reliable VoIP
and high speed ADSL2+ Internet access services to its customers in southern
Italy. By utilizing Zhone's market-leading multiple access line concentrator,
Convergenze has been able to increase network bandwidth and reach, lower service
delivery cost and provide advanced services to its customers.

Convergenze deployed Zhone's multiple access line concentrator as its multi-
service access solution for business VoIP and high speed Ethernet-over-copper
services for area businesses and residents. A primary reason Convergenze chose
the Zhone solution was its ability to provide multiple services on a single
platform, with the option of expanding to Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) in
the future.
