Harris Corporation and Coolfire Solutions to Demonstrate Reconn Mobile SATCOM Toolkit at SATELLITE 2012(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 13 March 2012 Release date- 12032012 - MELBOURNE, FL/WASHINGTON, DC (SATELLITE 2012, Harris Booth #701) - Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) and Coolfire Solutions, LLC will demonstrate a mobile SATCOM toolkit for locating, acquiring and sustaining SATCOM links on March 13, 3:00 p.m., at the Exhibit Showcase Theater during the SATELLITE 2012 Conference being held at the Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC. The companies will demonstrate Reconn, a new 8-pound mobile device controlled through a smartphone. Attendees will see Reconn in actual use, connected live to a SATCOM terminal, with a screen showing the ease of real-time location, acquisition and sustainment of a link. Reconn is unique in that it integrates all the tools and capabilities required by SATCOM operators - spectrum analyzer, power meter, LNB tester, and multimeter - using a single handheld device. Its small size and light weight make it ideal for conducting missions in remote and terrain-challenged environments. Currently SATCOM operators must use multiple devices, with different interfaces and greater weight.
