iDirect launches iDX 3.1 for organisations to build and support large-scale narrowband networks with iDirect Intelligent Platform

Mar 12, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Provider of satellite-based IP communications technology VT iDirect Inc (iDirect), a VT Systems Inc company, on Monday announced the upcoming release of iDX 3.1, a cost-effective remote bundle that enables organisations to build and support large-scale narrowband networks with an existing iDirect Intelligent Platform.

The company said that its new iDX 3.1 can be optimised for large networks with small inbound channels and includes several key features such as: Evolution X1 Remote, which combines a low power, compact remote with a highly efficient BUC and LNB; Evolution X1 Outdoor, which features an IP67 weatherproof housing that offers an extended temperature range (-40C to +60C) and a passive cooling system; a new 16-Channel Licensing Option for the Evolution XLC-M Line Card; group QoS Enhancements; which now supports active, idle and dormant states for each remote.

The upgraded iDX 3.1 also supports other applications such as distance education, pipeline monitoring, business continuity and point-of-sale. iDirect added that iDX 3.1 will be unveiled at the SATELLITE 2012 conference and exhibition, which runs from 12 to 15 March 2012 in Washington DC.
