ZTE, Telefonica Jointly Launch 'Call Me Now' Service in Venezuela

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 05 March 2012 Release date- 01032012 - Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation ('ZTE') (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, announced today it has partnered with Telefonica to jointly launch the 'Call Me Now' (CMN) service in Venezuela, making it available to over 100 million users in some of the Latin American countries where Telefonica operates.

The CMN service is initiated when call receiver is unreachable or busy. The system continues to monitor the receiver and notifies the caller when it detects they are reachable. This eliminates the need to leave a message and call completion rate and ARPU are increased accordingly.

'The proliferation of CMN services into Venezuela illustrates the company's capability of developing technologies in markets across the globe, specifically Latin America,' said ZTE Director General de Telefonica Mariano Li.

Telefonica is a leading telecoms operator that provides services in Europe and Latin America. In 2008, ZTE began providing VMS (voice mail service) for Telefonica and began construction of its Latin American VMS services in 2009. ZTE currently provides VMS services for 120 million Telefonica subscribers in 14 countries.
