Deloitte Wins Two Management Consulting Awards

(AIG) in the Transaction/Event-Driven category and Interbrand in the Corporate Social Responsibility category were winners at the inaugural 2012 Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF) awards, which were presented at the University Club in New York on Thursday evening, March 1.

In the Transaction/Event-Driven category, Deloitte professionals helped the Operations and Systems group of the global financial firm, AIG separate and divest more than 40 different business units - all at the same time and without disrupting the operation of the remaining AIG core.

In the Corporate Social Responsibility category, Deloitte professionals helped Interbrand extend its existing annual Best Global Brands ranking with the development of an extensive new ranking methodology on environmental sustainability performance for its Best Global Green Brands list which launched in 2011.


Deloitte was also a finalist in the following categories: Business Strategy (U.S. Agency for International Development), Developing Markets (Defense Information Systems Agency), Finance and Risk Management (Pfizer, Inc.) and Technology Transformation (Southern California Edison).

In the Business Strategy category, Deloitte professionals used their extensive experience in post-conflict countries to help the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) craft effective policies and processes in several Kosovo government agencies. Within three years, Kosovo achieved an economic, fiscal and financial caliber that exceeded expectations and made its government budgeting and treasury systems equal to those of more developed countries.

In the Developing Markets category, Deloitte professionals drew on the organization's experience and specialized skills to craft a plan that helped the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) expand and strengthen Afghanistan's telecommunications infrastructure to promote economic growth.

In the Finance and Risk Management category, Deloitte professionals collaborated with Pfizer, Inc. to create an innovative solution to provide centralized support for analytical and advisory services provided by the Finance organization. The resulting Decision Support Center of Excellence creates considerable value for the company by enabling the Finance organization to focus primarily on high-value, strategic activities to help drive growth, while at the same time operating more efficiently.

In the Technology Transformation category, Deloitte professionals worked with Southern California Edison, one of the nation's largest utilities, to provide innovative software services by designing a rich user interface that improved a nuclear generating station's compliance with mandatory federal reporting requirements and reduced training costs.

The 2012 AMCF Awards winners were selected in a rigorous process by an independent panel of judges comprised of experienced executives from business, government, journalism and academia.
