SPIRIT DSP partners with Maaii

Feb 28, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Voice and video over IP engines provider SPIRIT DSP and mobile VoIP application business Maaii Limited have joined forces to deliver cross-platform, integrated HD VoIP (Voice Over IP) communications to consumers and operators, SPIRIT said on Tuesday.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the company, Maaii has licensed SPIRIT's TeamSpirit Voice Engine Mobile and TeamSpirit Voice Engine PC SDKs (Software Development Kits) to power its new communication applications with HD-quality VoIP calling for iOS and Android devices.


The app is a cross-platform, integrated communications product, allowing free Wi-Fi/3G calling between Maaii users with low-cost rates to mobile and landline numbers worldwide.

The Maaii iOS app launched in January 2012 and is available for free download from the iTunes App Store. The company's Android client is currently in closed beta and is available shortly.
