Ipswitch File Transfer Appoints Rich Kennelly as President

Ipswitch (News - Alert) File Transfer, a leading provider of high-performance secure managed file transfer, electronic data interchange, and business-to-business data gateway solutions, has announced the appointment of Rich Kennelly as President of Ipswitch's File Transfer Division. As President, Mr. Kennelly is responsible for all division strategy and operations, including engineering, product management, global sales and services, and operations. Most recently Mr. Kennelly was vice president for Akamai's (News - Alert) Media Business Unit, responsible for the video, software, and object delivery products and services.

Mr. Kennelly brings over 20 years of engineering and business leadership to Ipswitch. Prior to Ipswitch Mr. Kennelly spent nine years in senior leadership roles at Akamai Technologies, including business, engineering, product management, service and support. Earlier in his career Mr. Kennelly was a founding member of ImagineLAN, Inc., a startup innovating in network and system diagnostics. He was also a key engineering leader at New Oak Communications which was credited with creating one of the industry's first VPN switches. Upon New Oak's acquisition by Nortel (News - Alert) Networks, Mr. Knnelly went on to manage engineering for Nortel's Contivity VPN product line.
