Network Equipment Technologies's Platform Qualifications Now Included on Microsoft Technet Website

FREMONT, CA, Feb 27, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NASDAQ: NWK) announced today that its Tenor DX, UX2000, and UX1000 are now included on the Microsoft Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program (UCOIP) -- Lync Server web page of the Microsoft Technet website, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/gg131938.aspx. The Microsoft Technet website is the most commonly used resource for customers and partners to use in identifying Microsoft Lync qualified platforms.

NET partnered with IntelePeer, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand, cloud-based communications services, to achieve NET UX certification under the Session Border Controller category. "We are pleased to partner with NET in their successful qualification of the UX2000 and UX1000," said Margaret Norton, General Manager, Enterprises at IntelePeer. "Through the use of the IntelePeer CoreCloud(TM) SIP trunking service and NET's newly certified products, businesses can rapidly and confidently deploy Microsoft unified communication solutions enabling improved communication and collaboration." Qualification testing was performed by tekVizion Labs (www.tekvizion.com) and WiPro (www.wipro.com) in their independent laboratories.

Microsoft's UCOIP qualification program for enterprise telephony services and infrastructure ensures that customers have seamless experiences with setup, support, and use of qualified telephony infrastructure and services in conjunction with Microsoft's unified communications software, including Lync Server and Exchange Server.

"Inclusion on the Technet website is an important step in recognition of our platforms' interoperability with the Microsoft Lync environment," said Suresh Tatavarthy, Senior Product Manager. "We are pleased to gain this additional recognition from Microsoft, as only products that meet rigorous and extensive testing requirements and conform to the specifications and test plans receive qualification and inclusion on the website."
