TrainSignal Releases Microsoft Networking Fundamentals Course

Feb 24, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- TrainSignal, a provider of professional computer training, announced the release of their Microsoft Networking Fundamentals course.

TrainSignal reported that this fundamentals course uses a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 environment to teach the core concepts, theories and practices of computer networking. Basic PC skills and an interest in IT careers are the base prerequisites for learning the functions, applications and components of wireless networking, routing, network topologies and test objectives for the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Exam 98-366.

The Company said MTA certification indicates an individual's thorough understanding of networking equipment in a server administration role. Key lessons of the course will cover: -The OSI Model -TCP/IP: Transport Layer Protocols, Internet Layer Protocols -IP Addressing: Private vs. Public IP Addressing and Working with IP Addresses -Subnetting -Network Security: Firewalls, Network Access, Common Security Threats According to a release, the course's instructor is Ed Liberman who has worked in IT for over 20 years, and certified for fourteen years by Microsoft, CompTIA and CWNA (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, A+, Network+, Server+). Besides working as an independent consultant, Liberman prioritizes the goals of career advancement and on-the-job skills in his courses. Liberman also authored Windows Server 2008 training, CompTIA Network+ and Microsoft Server Virtualization training courses.

The TCP/IP fundamentals portion of the course includes explanations of transport layer protocols, command-line tools and an in-depth overview of network topologies (WAN, VLAN, VPN). Once viewers master the objectives in Microsoft Networking Fundamentals and pass the MTA exam, the Company said they can learn more advanced topics in Security, Windows Server and Active Directory, leading to network & server administration and desktop deployment job opportunities.


The Microsoft MTA Networking Fundamentals course contains 17 lessons in over 8 hours of video instruction. Students will receive 2 DVDs of video lessons. Each lesson is available in several formats, iPod Video, Mp3 Audio, .WMV and AVI, allowing students to use course materials on a variety of devices.
