Arkadin Deploys Radisys Media Servers for Cloud Collaboration Services

Feb 21, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Radisys Corporation, a provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions, and Arkadin, a provider of collaboration-as-a-service solutions, announced the deployment of Radisys media servers across the new Arkadin Cloud Collaboration Platform, delivering global conferencing services on a private global-IP network.

According to a release, the Cloud Collaboration Platform, based on a distributed network of Radisys' media servers, brings a new generation of audio collaboration services that enable Arkadin's customers to manage their global conferencing needs more efficiently and deliver a greater return on investment.

Arkadin's Cloud Collaboration Platform, leveraging Radisys' CMS-9000 media servers, delivers a competitive international conferencing experience with premium audio quality, along with intelligent call routing, a single set of country access numbers and maximum security. Arkadin will use the high capacity Cloud Collaboration Platform as the basis of its long range unified collaboration offerings, integrating with both video and web conferencing. Arkadin partnered with Radisys to deploy the CMS-9000 in six cities across four continents, all interconnected using Arkadin's private IP network, delivering audio conferencing quality, reliability and security for global conferencing requirements with local customer support.

Radisys media servers deliver VoIP audio conferencing mixing, allowing Arkadin to offer the latest audio technology for a differentiated user experience. Radisys' support for Session Initiation Protocol with Media Server Markup Language provided a standards-based control interface for Arkadin application developers to integrate the extensive VoIP conferencing capabilities of the Radisys CMS-9000. When deployed across Arkadin's IP VPN, the Radisys solution delivers the audio required by Arkadin.

Radisys' Professional Services team of technical experts also played an essential role during the integration of Radisys media servers with the Arkadin platform. Development originally began with Radisys' CMS-3000 media servers, but the production deployment required the high-capacity CMS-9000. By providing feature and interface compatibility across its product family, Radisys set the foundation for future scalability.

"The Arkadin team has been very satisfied with not only the performance and capabilities of Radisys media servers, but also Radisys' ongoing support throughout our development and deployment," said Thomas Boudier, CTO, Arkadin. "Arkadin is a fast-growing, global conferencing service provider dedicated to providing our customers innovative unified communications solutions. Radisys is a key partner in delivering the high-quality audio conferencing experience found in the Arkadin Cloud Collaboration Platform." "We are pleased to have Arkadin as a customer and to have Radisys media servers deployed around the world as an integral part of Arkadin's Cloud Collaboration Platform," said David Smith, vice president and general manager, media server business unit, Radisys. "This deployment is evidence of how Radisys media servers can deliver real-time VoIP services across a cloud telecommunications architecture, allowing Arkadin to offer economical, feature-rich, cloud collaboration services to its enterprise customers." Arkadin offers remote collaboration solutions.
