New Tools from KnowledgeTree Instantly Organize Business Documents

Raleigh, NC, Feb 07, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Critical business processes are built on documents. Finance teams generate invoices and budgets. Legal teams depend on contracts and related materials. Sales teams build proposals and offers. But when these documents are difficult to find and share, business processes get derailed and productivity is damaged.

KnowledgeTree today announced two innovations that help organize these core documents instantly. That means that business processes that depend on documents are immediately more efficient. The new tools allow users to: Search for text within images and scanned documents. New Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology automatically scans files as they are imported. The built-in OCR feature captures and indexes text within even non-standard documents. That means that users can search for and quickly retrieve documents like photographs or scanned contracts.

Add documents to folders via email. Users can email documents directly into their document vault. A unique email address for your folders can be shared with colleagues and external partners or customers. Attachments are organized in the correct folder with relevant metadata automatically added to aid document discovery and management.

"The new features that KnowledgeTree has introduced give our users a significant productivity boost," said Daniel Chalef, KnowledgeTree's CEO. "Now legal, finance, and other teams can quickly organize documents that are invisible in other solutions. And with the ability to email documents to your vault, we have streamlined collaboration with external or remote teams." "One of our projects supports a major energy efficiency program," said Jeff Williams, CEO of Public Sector Consultants, an objective, nonpartisan research firm providing policy research in health, education, energy, and the environment. "These business processes depend on the effective management of tens of thousands of documents -- and specific approval and review workflows -- within tight state and federal timelines. KnowledgeTree's ability to simplify how we create, organize, and share documents provides a tremendous productivity boost for our company and network of partners." Companies can test-drive the new functionality for free by visiting KnowledgeTree's website.
