tw telecom Gets Contract from U.S. General Services Administration![]() By Rahul Arora TMCnet Contributor tw telecom, a provider of managed services including Business Ethernet, converged and IP VPN solutions for enterprises throughout the U.S. and globally, recently received an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) for advanced voice, data and Internet services in Region 9.
Extending through March 2014, the contract entitles tw telecom (News - Alert) to offer a fully managed, E-Line Ethernet WAN service; Extended Native LAN (ENLAN) service; and Private Network Transport (PNT) service to Federal Agencies within the GSA's Region 9 (California).
'We are pleased that the GSA has selected tw telecom to provide highly reliable, flexible and cost-effective data services,' said Ken Folderauer, president of Public Sector at tw telecom, in a recent press release. 'tw telecom's services will ensure that Federal Agencies in California have access to the benefits of an integrated data network that gives employees the most advanced services possible.' Recently, the company expanded its presence in Platform Equinix (News - Alert), a platform from data center provider Equinix connecting enterprises and a variety of companies and network service providers to help them grow their businesses, improve application performance and protect critical digital assets. This arrangement will help tw telecom securely reach cloud service providers and enterprise customers operating in Equinix data centers across the country.
