Former Nimsoft CEO Tapped as New CEO of Boundary

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/18/12 -- Boundary, developer of real-time network and applications monitoring-as-a-service, today announced that former Nimsoft CEO Gary Read has joined the company as President and CEO. Boundary offers DevOps teams continuous visibility into their network and application traffic flows in public cloud environments like Amazon EC2 and Rackspace Cloud, or private cloud data centers.

Gary previously served as CEO of Nimsoft, providers of the award-winning Cloud monitoring solution. At Nimsoft, Gary grew the business from zero to over $100M in bookings and 300 people, and successfully led the company to a $350M acquisition by CA Technologies in 2010. Boundary's founder, Cliff Moon, continues in his role as CTO and is responsible for the design, development and operation of Boundary's real-time monitoring-as-a-service. Gary will also be appointed to the Boundary board of directors, alongside Cliff and John Vrionis of Lightspeed Venture Partners.

"We're ecstatic that Gary has decided to join Boundary," said John Vrionis, Managing Director at Lightspeed Venture Partners and Boundary board member. "His track record leading and growing Nimsoft makes him the perfect match for Boundary and its SaaS real-time monitoring service." Boundary's SaaS-based offering is the industry's first real-time monitoring service that requires no hardware probes or software code changes. It offers unmatched scalability, analyzing traffic flows at one-second granularity across millions of simultaneous metrics, providing DevOps teams the continuous application and infrastructure visibility required to support continuous deployment and rapid recovery.

"IT management needs to be significantly improved. Most existing solutions are based on decades-old technology, rely on SQL-based databases, and are simply too static and complex to use for today's agile, cloud-based infrastructures," said Gary Read, CEO of Boundary. "I believe Boundary is ideally positioned to lead this revolution and take customers into a truly new generation of management. By eliminating the visibility gaps created when applications are deployed into the cloud, Boundary solves one of the cloud's biggest hurdles -- cloud performance assurance." The Boundary platform was built for DevOps engineers by DevOps engineers. It is a Big Data collection, streaming, and real-time analytics system for processing high-dimensionality sensor network data at high speed and low latency. Boundary is currently in beta with plans for general availability the first half of 2012. For more information, visit www.boundary.com.
