Skytap Reports Surpassing 1 Million Virtual Machines Launch MilestoneJan 12, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Skytap Inc., a provider of self-service cloud automation solutions, announced that over one million virtual machines (VMs) have been launched by customers using its Skytap Cloud service. This represents a milestone for Skytap, which the Company noted provides businesses with a secure way to create complex computing environments in the cloud. The announcement follows a string of advancements and accolades achieved by the company throughout 2011, including being selected as a "Best of VMWorld 2011" award winner in the public/hybrid cloud computing technologies category. According to a release, Skytap Cloud is powered by software that was designed from the ground up for the next generation of cloud computing. In related news, Skytap also reported that it has completed an examination in conformity with the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization, which was finalized by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
