NetUP introduces new IPTV solution for Android-based TV


Dec 30, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Russian IPTV headend manufacturer NetUP announced on Friday that it is now ready to offer an IPTV solution with no IP set-top boxes needed for its new Android-based IP STB integrated TV set.

According to the company, its IPTV solution is set up on an an Android-based IP TV set with headend equipment such as NetUP IPTV Combine 4x and local area network with multicast support.

NetUP added that its new device looks like an ordinary TV set and gives users access to IPTV services including: watching Live TV with interactive features, using Electronic Program Guide (EPG), enjoying VoD movies and many more. Subscribers can also take advantage of all Android features such as: web surfing, social networking, gaming, YouTube, Skype, and Google Maps.

The company stated that its new TV set is now available for pre-order and is priced at USD565 for 32"; USD725 for 40"; USD845 for 46"; and USD1150 for 55".
