App downloads Jumped During Christmas


Dec 28, 2011 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- There were 150M apps for mobile devices downloaded on Christmas Eve, and 242 million apps downloaded on Christmas, according to mobile analytics firm Flurry, The New York Times reported.

Christmas Day downloads of apps for Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android operating system more than doubled compared with prior years and set records, Flurry added, the newspaper said.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has potential upside of 26.3% based on a current price of $403.02 and an average consensus analyst price target of $509.09.


Apple is currently above its 50-day moving average (MA) of $391.36 and above its 200-day of $367.67.

In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day MA has remained constant while the 200-day MA has remained constant.
