Humana Acquires Anvita Health (HUM)


Dec 07, 2011 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- Humana (NYSE:HUM) announced it has acquired Anvita Health. Terms were not disclosed. Anvita Health, founded in 2000, provides analytics solutions that produce clinical insights for companies that want to improve the quality and lower the cost of health care for their members and clients.

The Anvita Insight engine analyzes health data from more sources than any other analysis engine, and is highly scalable.

Michael B. McCallister, Humana's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said, "We've been partnering with Anvita since 2010 to enhance Humana's health care analytics performance, and we're excited about what this acquisition will mean for Humana health plan members, health care providers and employer-customers. Anvita helps its clients improve health care quality while also identifying cost savings for individuals and populations." Humana (NYSE:HUM) has potential upside of 14.1% based on a current price of $85.71 and an average consensus analyst price target of $97.77.
