[December 05, 2011] Siemens to acquire smart grid software provider eMeter Tweet Dec 05, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Siemens Industry Inc (NYSE:SI), a provider of electrical, engineering & automation solutions to the industrial, manufacturing & construction industries, said today that it has agreed to acquire eMeter Corporation for an undisclosed sum. eMeter provides Smart Grid Management software that enables electricity, gas and water utilities to realise the full benefits of smart grid technology, Siemens Industry said. Following the acquisition eMeter will become part of the Smart Grid Division of the Siemens Infrastructure & Cities Sector, part of Siemens Industry in the US. The transaction is expected to be completed in December 2011, subject to approvals and other customary closing conditions.
