Teradici Signs Distribution Agreement with Westpac

Dec 01, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Teradici, a developer of PC-over-IP protocol for desktop virtualization, announced a distribution agreement with Westpac, a provider of virtual desktop infrastructure server and display solutions in Korea.

According to a release, with established relationships with Korean resellers and system integrators, Westpac will help Teradici meet demand for the APEX 2800 PCoIP server offload card in Korea.

"We are pleased to further strengthen Westpac's partnership with Teradici by distributing the APEX 2800 server offload card in Korea," said Henry Kim, CEO of Westpac. "The virtual desktop market is expected to grow quickly and APEX 2800 will accelerate the growth of VMware VDI deployments in Korea through Westpac." Designed to offload PCoIP image encoding from VMware View servers, the Teradici APEX 2800 server offload card is a performance enhancement to VMware View deployments. It can dynamically manage unexpected peaks in CPU processing demands ensuring a consistent high level user experience at the desktop while reducing CPU utilization and allowing IT managers to provide increased VDI consolidation ratios.

"Westpac is dedicated to delivering the latest technology solutions and superior service to their customers," said Trent Punnett, VP of marketing for Teradici. "We are excited to have them as a key distribution partner to further strengthen Teradici's presence in Korea." The APEX 2800 PCoIP server offload card will be available in January of 2012.
