Old National ID Card Will Soon be Invalid(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Director General of Immigration has announced that the old manual Gambian National Identity Card which was in circulation before the introduction of the biometric national identity card is declared null and void with effect from 31 December 2011. When Foroyaa got in touch with the public relations officer of the Immigration Depart he advised all those without the biometric card to make effort to get one before January 1, 2012. He was also asked what documents are to be produced before a biometric national identity card is issued. In response he said one of the following documents should be produced: a birth certificate, passport, attestation by an Alkalo, attestation by a Seyfo or an old national identity card.
